Why isn't the wi-fi hotspot I borrowed from the Library working?

I borrowed a Wifi Hotspot from the Library, but its network name isn't showing up on my device. What's wrong?

Answer

The most common answer to this question is that the hotspot isn't powered on!

  1. Plug your hotspot into a wall socket to make sure that it's charged.
  2. There is a power button on the top of the hotspot. Hold this button down until the icons on the front of the device light up blue.
  3. Wait a minute or two for the hotspot to wake up. During this time, the icons may go dark. They should slowly light up blue again. When the light above the first icon, and at least one light above the second icon, are lit up then it is ready to use.

If your hotspot is already powered on, please try turning it off, waiting thirty seconds, and then turning it back on.

If your borrowed hotspot was previously working and stopped, please check the due date for the hotspot. Service is suspended for hotspots that are overdue.
