How can I renew my items?

There are a few ways to renew your items.

1. On a computer or mobile device, log in to the library catalog:

  • Once logged in, open your account menu in the upper right corner and select Checked Out.
  • On your Checked Out page, use the checkboxes to select the desired titles.
  • In the gray bar at the bottom of the page, select Renew.

2. In the SPL Mobile app, log in to your account.

  • In the bottom navigation, select My Borrowing.
  • In the My Borrowing menu, select Checked Out.
  • On your Checked Out page, use the checkboxes to select the desired titles.
  • In the gray bar at the bottom of the page, select Renew.

3. By phone, call our Accounts line at 408-730-7309 during our open hours. Please have your library barcode ready so we can find your account.

4. In the building, you can ask anyone at our customer service desks to renew your items. You do not need to have them with you. If you do have them with you, you can use the self-check machines as if you were checking them out for the first time.

If you are not able to renew an item, it may be on hold for someone else, or you may have hit the renewal limit. You may renew each item a maximum of three times.
