Why do I need to create a new username for Bibliocommons?
I already have my barcode memorized. Why do I need to create a new username? Why do I have to create a username for the catalog?
Answer
You can log in with your username or your library card number. Once you make a username, you never have to use it again. You can continue to log in to your library account with your barcode if you would like.
The reason we require all users to select a unique username is because the new catalog has additional optional functionality, like commenting on books and keeping track of your reading on shelves. To support this, we need all users to create a username.
You may also have a similar login at another library. Your login at each library must be unique.
